As a director and technical advisor my role has been to provide technical, functional, and operational advice to corporations, organisations, and agencies to ensure universal design and accessibility compliance against the Australian Standards and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

CAREER HISTORY – Major Event Consulting

 

My role in major events has been as an expert advisor to the International Paralympic Committee and the Organising Committees to design world class infrastructure that reflects universal design, whole of community engagement, positive culture development i.e., move away from disability towards accessibility, and creating legacy outcomes for all people, in particular those with accessibility or health issues. The scope generally included transport infrastructure and operations, marketing and communications, website development, ticketing, security, spectator services, staff training and education programs. Lastly, I ensured that the Games delivered to elite athletes with disabilities, the same level of facilities, services, and opportunities as able-bodied athletes, so they could perform at their best on the world stage.
