About Penny
Penny Ford is responsible for leading the transport strategy and planning outcomes for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Penny has over 20 years’ experience in the Queensland public sector and leads a large multidisciplinary team, based in locations across Queensland to deliver transport strategy and planning for all transport modes across freight and passenger transport which guides integrated investment priorities for Queensland to achieve the right transport outcomes at the right time.
​
She has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Queensland, and two Masters of Engineering degrees from Monash University in the fields of Transport Engineering and Traffic Engineering. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
