About Narelle
Professor Narelle Haworth AM is a Research Professor at CARRS-Q, the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety-Queensland.
She has conducted research across almost all areas of road safety during the last 35 years. In 2021, she was made a Member of the Order of Australia for “significant service to the road transport industry, and to accident research”.
Her special interest is in improving the safety of the most vulnerable road users – pedestrians and riders of bicycles, e-scooters and motorcycles – and other groups such as road workers.
A major thrust of her work has been to make policymakers aware of the relevance and impact of research on road safety practice, and to reinforce the need to focus on implementing effective measures.
